Hello! As proud Kiwis, we love sharing our passion for New Zealand with visitors from around the world. Richard is a native Kiwi and is always happy to chat with guests and share his insider knowledge of the local area. Jovana has a wealth of experience in hiking and walking around Mt Cook and Lake Tekapo, having worked as a hut warden in Mt Cook National Park. She can provide endless advice and recommendations for guests who want to explore the stunning natural scenery that surrounds our property.

HISTORY
Tailor Made Tekapo Accommodation first welcomed travelers on January 13th, 1992, after being repurposed from its original use as housing for New Zealand Electricity Department staff whole built the Hydro Power scheme. The three buildings, constructed by the NZ Ministry of Works in the 1950s, were given a new lease on life thanks to the vision of Micheal and Wilma. Recognising the potential to provide affordable accommodation for travelers from around the world, the couple undertook months of hard work and received support from the locals (including a visit from the Mayor who even helped with the gardening!) before finally opening their doors to the world.
In October 2009, Jovana was appointed as a manager for Michael and Wilma, and for the next five years, she helped maintain Tailor Made Tekapo's reputation as Lake Tekapo's favorite affordable accommodation. When Michael and Wilma decided to retire, Jovana and Richard stepped up to take on the task of continuing the Tailor Made Tekapo legacy. They are committed to providing the same warm hospitality and unique experience that travelers have come to expect from the property.
